Project Management

Through a rigorous project management process, GD Tech is able to ensure the cost-efficient, on-time delivery of every precision component manufactured. Our project management team consists of skilled production and engineering personnel who are dedicated to meeting specific delivery needs. This level of dedication means that machining start times are adhered to and that integrated systems and lean-manufacturing-based project management tools are utilized to track the progress of each order. 

In addition, GD Group ensures that delivery timelines remain achievable by quickly determining production challenges and then making the necessary adjustments. We also maintain an open, ongoing dialog with our customers, communicating the status of their projects clearly and frequently.

Our Project Managers (PMs) are assigned directly to the customer to ensure we have a 'single point of contact' communication process. This single point of contact process enables our PMs to represent the voice of the customer, to communicate accurate and timely information, and to streamline the design and tool build process. As the direct focal point to the customer, our PMs manage the customer's project from concept inception to final delivery of that product. 

PMs:

· Support key functions, including product development, concept design, cost optimization, planning and scheduling, performance metrics, kick off meetings, and weekly status updates to customers.

· Ensure compliance with commercial and government contracts, provide risk assessments and act with speed and integrity in all aspects of our business.

· Are trained in areas such as AS9100, ISO13485 and QC080000, contracts, cost management, customer relations, risk management, ITAR/export compliance.

· Interact with all internal and external support functions to communicate all facets of customer requirements.

· Work with ERP and visual management systems to optimize production and maintain industry-leading on time delivery adherence.

GD Group is built on establishing optimized programs that predict and direct each project involved in production. Our program management teams fill the role of supervisors from start to finish of production, taking on the following responsibilities:

· Determining timeline and product specification goals

· Initial planning for production methods and materials

· Outlining projects that will serve to make up a cohesive program

· Overseeing project development and planning

· Monitoring stages of project completion

· Ensuring quality inspections and quality assurance

· Tracking costs and production times

· Continued assessment of production performance, planning effectiveness, and overall results

A critical part of the GD Group process is the management involved in the development of a project. Without highly-optimized management systems, overall success for complex part machining, fabrication, assembly, and integration would not be possible.
